How Do I Choose The Right Class?
Here at WiseOceans Academy we offer three different types of virtual lesson, aimed at a wide range of students and learning styles. Learn more below and work out which session is the best fit for you and your mini marine biologists.
Public Sessions
Our public sessions are open to all. We cover a different topic each week and have up to 9 learners join each class. The sessions run in 24-week blocks, but each topic is stand-alone so you can join in for a couple of topics or complete the whole cycle. The class style is informal, with plenty of opportunities for learners to ask questions and share stories throughout. It is not school – we want you to learn, but we also to have fun! These sessions are perfect for ocean enthusiasts who want to add a weekly class to their home school or extracurricular schedule.

Private Sessions
Private sessions can be booked for a single student or small groups. As they are not open to other learners, the topic of private sessions can be picked by you from our list of 24. These sessions work great for learners who are full of questions, have a specific topic in mind or want our marine biologists undivided attention. They also work great for home school groups or birthday parties; the dates and times are flexible, and topics of special interest can be chosen. For birthday parties we even provide some special crafts along with the worksheets.

School Sessions
Finally, we offer sessions for schools and other organisations that have large groups that want to attend a virtual class. These sessions work well as an addition to curriculums or special science weeks or terms. These are geared towards large groups of learners, so they have a different style of participation and engagement as well as a time slot for questions at the end.

We hope this helped you find the right class for you and your learner. Do you have a mini marine biologist ready to start their ocean exploring journey?
