About the organisation
Global Reef is a rapidly growing marine research organisation based in Koh Tao, Thailand.
Through research, education, and innovative technologies, our mission is to connect a globa audience with the marine world, providing scientists, students, researchers and academic institutions with a platform to engage in reef conservation – from anywhere and everywhere.
Global Reef have established a wide range of research projects – feeding directly into scientific publications, government reports, and presentations at international conferences.
The organisation also combines conventional research approaches with innovative technologies to provide unique data sets to collaborators internationally.
About the role
We currently have two openings for field-based research staff in Koh Tao, Thailand. Working under the direction of our Program Director, you’ll support interns in developing underwater research skills, lead dive-based ecological studies, and take responsibility for key projects with the aim of producing publishable research.
Requirements
Master’s degree (or higher) in marine science/biology, or a closely related field Certified Dive Master (or higher) with experience
- Field-based research experience
- Experience and enthusiasm for teaching
- Excellent organisational skills and collaborative mindset
One of these roles is reserved for a Thai national, or an individual holding dual citizenship (one of which must be Thai).
