Abbie Hine
Managing Director
Abbie has over 25 years’ experience as a marine educator and coral reef researcher and many more years submerged. Abbie has a MSc in Tropical Coastal Management, and has worked in numerous countries developing and running expeditions, coordinating volunteers, and leading surveys. She has worked as a Marine Biologist at luxury resorts and coordinated marine awareness projects. Believing in the value of marine education and conservation Abbie founded WiseOceans
Emily Daniels
Head of Discovery
Emily began her career in Marine Conservation after travelling to Australia aged 18. Here, she obtained her PADI Instructor qualification and subsequently went on to work in marine operations and research station management including being Resort Manager for a remote luxury dive resort. Emily is our Resort Operations manager, fully utilising her experience in managing teams and operations in remote, tropical countries
Georgina Beresford
Head of Science & Conservation
Georgina has extensive experience in coral reef research, community outreach and conservation gained in the Caribbean, Indonesia, Fiji, Madagascar, Seychelles and Mauritius. Georgina is a specialist in coral reefs, reef restoration and working alongside marine resource-dependent communities. She has a MSc in Tropical Coastal Management and both manages and develops our global conservation, education and reef restoration projects
Hannah Harries
Academy & Careers Manager
Hannah grew up in Wales and always wanted to be a Marine Biologist! After training as a Divemaster and obtaining a degree in Marine Vertebrate Zoology, she began her career at Sea Trust. Hannah joined WiseOceans in 2016 and spent several years as a Marine Educator in Seychelles and Mauritius, before returning home (via Maldives). Back at WiseOceans Hannah splits her time between Academy and Careers, overseeing both departments
Martha O'Keefe
Academy Coordinator
During her undergraduate degree Martha embarked on a field course to Borneo and went scuba diving for the first time. This proved to be a turning point in her career and having fallen in love with the underwater world, she undertook a Masters in marine conservation and gained her PADI Divemaster qualification. Meanwhile, her passion for education began in Hong Kong, while teaching at an international school. Martha joins WiseOceans to combine both her passions, as a Marine Educator
Liane Fulford
Academy Educator
Liane has always had a passion for the ocean and has worked on marine conservation projects in Thailand and the Seychelles, in coral reef restoration as well as turtle and shark monitoring. She previously worked as a WiseOceans Marine Biologist and Educator in Seychelles. Now, she is based in the UK
Issy Hinton
Media & Comms Coordinator
Issy has volunteered on marine conservation projects in Australia, Seychelles and Cambodia gaining experience in coral restoration and ecosystem monitoring. After gaining a Bsc in Biology, Issy went on to obtain a Master’s in Marine Environmental Management. Issy is our Media and Communications Coordinator having developing expertise in communications over the years since graduating
Louise Sabadel
Discovery Coordinator
After obtaining her BSc in Biology, Louise went on to obtain her International Masters in Marine Biological Resources. She worked as Coral Biologist in Maldives before joining WiseOceans in 2021. Here, she established and developed our programme at Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora. From 2023, she now works as a Coordinator for WiseOceans Discovery
Cyril Soulet
Marine Educator
Cyril has been a marine enthusiast since childhood and after graduating with a BSc in Marine Biology he worked as a PADI instructor to deepen his understanding of reefs. Cyril also has al a Degree in Biomonitoring of marine ecosystems and has honed his skills as a Scientific Diver and dedicated his efforts to coral conservation through voluntary work in the Maldives
Ambre Chabert
Marine Educator
Ambre is a dynamic marine conservationist with a diverse background, from coral restoration in the Seychelles to leading sustainable fisheries projects in Canada. Armed with an international MSc in Marine Biological Resources, her expertise spans marine mammal monitoring, data management, and education
Marc Shellard
Marine Educator
A graduate Marine Biologist and PADI Open Water Instructor with extensive experience in coral reef restoration and sea turtle biology, Marc is passionate about fostering connections between people and our oceans
Pip Penny
Marine Educator
With an undergraduate degree in Conservation Biology & Ecology, Pip possesses strong coral reef restoration experience and has spent several years working in numerous locations such as Cambodia, Haiti, and the Maldives
Ashley Harding
Marine Educator
With a degree in Environmental Sciences and certification as a PADI diver, Ashley began her career in marine conservation through hands-on roles in Mauritius and the Seychelles, where she gained expertise in coral restoration, ecosystem monitoring, and marine education
Fantine Soulat
Marine Educator
Participating to mangrove restoration community efforts in The Gambia began Fantine’s lifelong dream to work on African marine ecosystems. With her International Masters in Marine Biological Resources, she seeks to engage in marine conservation efforts through practical restoration work and education
Caitlin Rentell
Marine Educator
After completing her BSc Marine Biology degree, Caitlin began her career in the Maldives. Here she gained experience in coral restoration and educational outreach. Caitlin is motivated to showcase the diversity of ocean life and raise awareness of the importance of protecting different ecosystems
Alana Robert
Marine Educator
A graduate from the Seychelles Maritime Academy and a Divemaster, Alana has extensive experience working in and around Seychelles, and is deeply passionate about the marine environment, and conserving it for future generations
Jemma Sargeant
Marine Educator
With a Masters in Marine Biology, Jemma is a passionate science communicator who desires to enable people to reconnect with nature, and to find nature-based solutions to our world’s biggest problems
Krishna Ashok
Marine Educator
After completing his MSc in the UK, Krishna worked as an Education Officer in the Andaman Islands. He joined WiseOceans in 2015 as a Marine Educator in Seychelles. After 5 wonderful years of guided snorkels, underwater photography and assisting in our Reef Restauration Project, he is now based in India but returns ad-hoc for additional support
